Áine McGroarty
Chief Commercial Officer
Áine has been working in the financial services industry for over 18 years and has extensive experience advising clients in SMEs and Professional Services. Prior to joining Unio, Áine held roles at Acumen and Trust and was a director of financial planning at wealth management firm Baseplan. Áine has completed a Masters in financial services and holds the CFP®, QFA, RPA and SIA designations. Áine will be taking up the position on her return from maternity leave in 2024.
Ian Brady
CEO of Unio Group
Ian joined Unio in August 2023 and has over 20 years’ experience as a managing director in the wealth management industry, as a corporate executive and a non-profit board member, serving the needs of high-net-worth individuals and corporations. Ian has a deep understanding of global wealth management, the Irish market, and the opportunity for Unio. Ian is a Chartered Director, holds QFA and CFP® qualifications and has an MBA from Trinity College Dublin.
Miċeál Gunning
Head of Private Clients
Miċeál is Head of Private Clients at Unio Wealth Management having previously worked with Invesco, Ulster Bank and Bank of Ireland. Miċeál leads a team of experienced and professional advisers. The advisory team is structured to support the diverse Unio client base including business owners, corporate executives, professional services practitioners and families. His team has a deep understanding of clients’ unique needs. Miċeál holds QFA and CFP® qualifications.
Mike O Sullivan
Director and Strategic Adviser
Mike is a Director and Strategic Adviser to Unio and chairs the Unio Global Macro Council and Investment Committee. Mike has twenty years’ experience in global financial markets, most recently as CIO in the International Wealth Management Division of Credit Suisse. He was educated at UCC and Balliol College, Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. He has taught finance and economics at Oxford University and Princeton University.
John Lucey
Regional Director
John has over 30 years of experience in wealth management having previously worked with Invesco, Willis Towers Watson and Irish Life. John is an Associate of both the Irish Institute of Pensions Managers and the Pensions Management Institute. As regional Director, his focus is on growing our presence in Cork, Limerick and Galway.
Conor Murray
Head of Corporate and Company Executives
Conor has worked in Unio since 2016 and has extensive experience advising clients in the Corporate and Multinational sectors. Prior to joining Unio, Conor held positions with Deloitte as well as Independent Trustee Company (ITC). He holds the Certified Financial Planner designation (CFP®), QFA, RPA and SIA designations.
Ger Fitzgerald
Head of Investment Strategy
Ger has over 15 years investment experience having previously worked with Invesco and Mercer. Ger is Head of Investment Strategy, responsible for the delivery of investment solutions across employee benefits and wealth management. He advises clients and trustee boards on investment requirements, asset allocation and manager selection. Ger sits on Unio’s Global Macro Council and Investment Committee. Ger is an Actuary, Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary, QFA and Pension Trustee Practitioner.
Alex Kinsella
Head of Investment Solutions
Alex is Head of Investment Solutions for Unio and is responsible for the development of investment solutions, manager research, asset allocation and ongoing operations of client investment programs. With over 20 years’ industry experience, Alex sits on Unio’s Global Macro Council and the Investment Committee. Alex was previously Head of Investments in APT Workplace Pensions. He is a graduate of DCU and NUI Maynooth, a QFA and Specialist Investment Adviser.
Paddy Swan
Director Client Advisory
Paddy joined Invesco in 2000 having built up 13 years’ industry experience in Trinity Bank, Eagle Star and State Street Bank. Paddy was previously a Director of Invesco and ran the Invesco wealth investment department where he was responsible for fund selection and asset allocation for private client portfolios. He is a member of Unio’s Global Macro Council. Paddy graduated with a degree in Economics from UCD.
Cliodhna Ferris
Head of HR
Cliodhna is the Head of HR for Unio Financial Services Limited. She is also responsible for providing strategic HR leadership to the Intermediary Business at Irish Life Group. Prior to joining Unio, Cliodhna gained extensive experience across financial services, both domestically and internationally, having held a variety of senior HR roles in Canada Life Group’s European Asset Management companies, Brewin Dolphin, Investec, and Bank of Ireland. Cliodhna is CIPD and tax qualified having started her career as a tax consultant with Deloitte.
Wendy McKeown
Head of Financial Planning
With over two decades of experience in financial planning, Wendy’s expertise lies in providing bespoke financial advice and pensions expertise to individuals and business owners in Ireland. Her passion is in working directly with clients, empowering them to make informed financial decisions and successfully achieve their goals. Before joining Unio, Wendy worked at Deloitte, providing wealth planning advice to business professionals and pension schemes. Wendy holds a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning from University College Dublin.
